The Government of Telangana had sanctioned 22 degree colleges with an objective to arrest the drop out rate of Tribal Women & Men at graduation level further and to eradicate the social malady of child marriages of Tribal Women.
Telangana Tribal Welfare Residential Degree College for Women (TTWRDC W), Suryapet, is one among 22 Tribal Welfare Residential Degree colleges in Telangana state under the aegis Telangana Tribal Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TTWREIS). TTWRDC W, Suryapet marks its existence through excellent academics, sports, cultural activities, career guidance placements for the students as part of the KG to PG free education policy of the Government of Telangana during the academic year 2016-2017. These Degree colleges have been launched to cater the higher educational needs of the students of under privileged and unprivileged sections of the society and to enhance their confidence levels acquiring the highest level of academic excellence coupled with excellent communication skills and the other interpersonal skills to transform themselves into the best citizens of the Nation.
The Government of Telangana giving utmost importance to the education has made KG to PG free education policy to provide free education to the poorest of the poor belonging to marginalized communities in the state to start with the launching of SC, ST, BC, Minority welfare Residential institutions in the state. Responding to the policy of the Government of Telangana, the then Secretary of TTWREIS conceived the plan of 22 Residential degree colleges for both men and women in the state of Telangana from the academic year 2017-2018.
Telangana Tribal Welfare Residential Degree College for Women (TTWRDC W), Suryapet is established on 23/08/2017 with a strong motto to educate and empower students belonging to ST community.
