About Library

        The Department of Library & Information Science of Telangana Tribal Welfare Residential Degree College at Dammapeta, was established in 2017. It attempts to meet the requirements of the Students, Teachers, Alumni, and other college stakeholders.

VISION

● To provide a student-centered learning environment that facilitates transference of
information and to cater to the needs of its users to access it.

MISSION

● To acquire, organise, preserve and disseminate information and resources to support
the teaching and learning needs of faculty and students.
● To lead in library development and library services
● To increase the reading habits among the library patrons.

OBJECTIVES:

● Extend the support to teaching, learning and research initiatives of the college
● Provide accessibility to information and other resources in a well organized manner
● Provide career and employment information resources to the users
● Create a suitable ambience for optimum usage of library resources
● Assist the users in retrieval of reading materials and e-resources
● Inculcate and development of reading habits among the users

FUNCTIONS

● To render an efficient reference and information service.
● To feed the intellect of the students
● To provide a large number of bibliographic tools.
● To update print/E-resources and every subject for student and teacher.

Text Books Section: In this area, all the text books are arranged on the single-faced steel open racks and Steel Almirahs according to subject. Each Shelve has been provided with Bay guides and shelf list to easily locate the books by the users.The library follows Open Access System for the benefit of the readers.

Reference Books Section: This section contains Reference Books such as Dictionaries, Glossaries,
Encyclopedia, Manuals, Projects, etc. A copy of the each textbook and other recommended books, which are prescribed in the syllabus are kept in the Reference Section. These are to be referred within the library premises only.

Competitive Books Section: Library tries to inculcate reading habits at the initial crucial stage so that the students become regular and effective users of future and face the competitive world. The library has a good collection of competitive material for various exams and entrance examinations. General Knowledge, General Studies, Current Affairs, Spoken English, English Grammar, various Competitive Examinations such as UPSC, RRC, IBPS, TSPSC, etc. Study materials and PG Entrance Examinations materials are also available for the students. Thus, helping the students of college in securing Government, Private sector jobs and also to acquire seats in various courses at Universities.

LIBRARY TIMINGS
    a) On Working Days: The college library is kept open to the students and staffs from 9.00 am to 5 pm.

    b) On Holidays: The library will remain closed on General Holidays, National, Gazetted and Local holidays.

NOTE: The Library is open on sunday.

Library Information

        The college library is the heart of the Institution. By offering necessary reading resources such as text books, reference books, general literature, journals, and magazines, it aids the process of a college education. Newspapers, e-books, e-journals (N-LIST), syllabus copies, and previous exam papers are all provided to staff and students. This access to a global library of literature promotes reading for both pleasure and educational purposes. The college library offers light reading materials like magazines, newspapers, a sizable selection of Telugu and English literature, etc., hence it is also used for leisure activities. Our library is uses NewGenLib Version  3.1.3 software .
                In addition to the library's regular activities, it also sponsors literary competitions for students, such as quizzes, essay writing contests, book reviews, etc. It also hosts library orientation programmes for both staff and students to raise awareness of the library's print and electronic information resources and to motivate them to pursue academic and research goals. On days that are significant both domestically and internationally, such as National Library Week, National Science Day, etc., it organizes unique book exhibitions.
