PHYSICS LAB:

SpARK (Special Academy for Research and Knowledge) College is established for science students with the highest goal to achieve seats in IITs, NITs, Central universities etc.

Here the main objective of teaching and learning process in science will be learning by doing experiments. As it is in establishment stage, we are planning a fully equipped PHYSICS LAB with latest branded equipment in spacious rooms. A separate optics lab in a dark room and a separate room for general and electronics lab with a separate lab instructor to monitor and a lab assistant to maintain it. This may achieve the objectives of SpARK College.

CHEMISTRY LAB:

The laboratory of Chemical sciences is meant for the exploration and hands on practice of the students, by emphasizing the practical importance of handling chemicals. In our lab, the students are trained well to utilize the chemical upholding all safety measures. Here students are going to apply their theoretical knowledge of organic chemistry to synthesize the simplest drug molecules such as Paracetamol, Aspirin and other important molecules. Moreover students gain the Practical chemistry knowledge of analytical chemistry techniques such as potentiometry, conductometry, polarimetry etc.

Further, students can learn the separation techniques such as column chromatography and Ion exchange chromatography and more. The advance analytical techniques like spectroscopy studies also explored by the students on a practical level, so that the young generation can easily adapt the latest trends of research knowledge in the discipline of chemistry.

Our Computer Science Department has a well established lab with intra and internet facility.

The college’s computer lab provides students with uninterrupted internet access and a scope to improve their  operational skills. Each class has been allotted a slot of their schedule to computer education to achieve this end. Computer lab is very useful to the students to practice mock tests for PG entrance examinations.

Lab  Guidelines:

• Single time use of maximum 50 minutes is permitted. 
• Students should follow the procedures prescribed for logging in and logging out. 
• Students are supposed to use only the systems allotted to them. 
• Silence should be observed in and around the lab. 
• Students should take off their shoes and put them outside the laboratory before entering the computer lab. 
• Before leaving the lab, users should properly shutdown the systems and re-arrange the seats. 

MICROBIOLOGY LAB :

The microbiology lab work is designed to help students build skills while reinforcing core microbiology concepts introduced in lectures. It begins with an introduction to biosafety practices and work with biological hazards, basic but essential microscopy skills, aseptic techniques, specific inoculation methods, culture methods and builds to include more advanced methods. Having exposure to these techniques, which are unique to a microbiology laboratory, at the undergraduate level instils confidence in students and prepares them for their future scientific career.

Key features and learning objectives of microbiology laboratory:

• Development of core and foundational laboratory skills required for working safely and effectively with different microorganisms
• Practical understanding of core concepts learned in theory
• Exposure to investigational methods used in general, medical and industrial microbiology
• Student centred investigational projects that encourages students to think and work like a scientist.

ZOOLOGY LAB:

The laboratory of zoology is meant for the exploration and hands on practice of the students, by emphasizing the practical importance of specimens, physiology and biochemistry. In our lab, the students are trained well to utilize the theoretical knowledge of biological evolution and structure features of animals, to hold the grip of primary systems such as digestive, respiratory, immune etc. Moreover, the study of specimens allows the students to classify the animals in the kingdom and emphasise their biological evolution. The practical orientation on genetics facilitates the students to extend their knowledge on inheritance, which leads the next generation to take part in the advanced studies and research.

BOTANY LAB: 

Botany laboratory provides plant identification services. It also gives an opportunity to experience the concepts and structures in theory and convert them into practical knowledge. Classical botany experiments such as preparation of herbarium will strengthen the basic concepts. Experiments of applied botany such as genetics and biotechnology would pave the way for students to progress towards varied topics in life sciences in the future.
