Telangana Tribal Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TTWREIS) works under the aegis of the Tribal Welfare Department, The Government of Telangana has been passionately working to place the poorest among the Scheduled Tribes in the prosperous orbit through quality education for the last 35 years. This Society with 180 institutions (from 1st standard to Degree) more than 50,000 students has been providing quality education in English medium up to graduation.

The Government of Telangana strongly believes that education is the right medium by which the lives of the marginalised children can be transformed in social and economic spheres thereby cultivating a new generation of marginalised students in Telangana,who can lead the country in the 21st century.

The Government of Telangana has been giving major impetus to the educational empowerment of marginalized children by launching Tribal welfare residential degree colleges.

As a part of this initiative, 22 Tribal Welfare Residential Degree Colleges were established in Telangana state by The Government of Telangana in 2017.

Among these 22 Colleges, 7 colleges are allotted for Men  and 15 for Women

INNOVATIVE  INITIATIVES IN GURUKULAM

  • Telangana Government has reiterated the importance of Women’s Education by sanctioning 15 Degree Colleges exclusively for Women and 7 Degree Colleges for Men for those who could not continue their education and have become dormant to the dogmas of the society. As per G.O.Ms.No.40, Tribal Welfare (BUD. & EDN.) Department, Dt: 06.07.2017, Government of Telangana has accorded sanction for (22) new Degree Colleges for ST students in Telangana State, Out of (22) Degree colleges, (15)  for Women and (07) for Men for the Academic Year 2017-18.
  • As per G.O. Ms. No. 147, Tribal Welfare (BUD. & EDN.) Department, Dt: 06.08.2017, the Government has also sanctioned (1455) posts for teaching (946) and Non-Teaching (509) posts  on regular basis in the newly sanctioned (22) TTWR Degree Colleges in Telangana State.

The following items have been provided during the academic year 2017-18:

  • Computer labs for TTWR schools & degree colleges
  • Closed Circuit TVs and cameras to girls’ institutions
  • Sports dress for the students
  • Tracksuit to the student's Degree level
  • Medical equipment provided to all the Colleges for the health & safety of students
  • Television sets provided to all the TTWR institutions for the implementation of MANA TV Programmes to enable students to equip presentation skills in various subjects.
  • Outdoor play equipment has been provided to all the TTWRE institutions.
  • Dictionaries with 3 titles – Oxford, Essential English Grammar by Raymond Murphy, Common Errors in English to develop communicative English, and writing skills & to empower students with word power.
  • Cosmetic kits (KCR Kits) have been provided to all the students of our society.
  • “To improve the knowledge in English Bridge courses was introduced during the academic year 2017-18.
  • To improve the fluency and the communication skills among the students in English, a new project called “MIRROR PROJECT” is being introduced in TTWREI Society to improve the English Communication skills and mirrors have been installed in all the TTWR institutions.
  • FAS – Financial Accounting System developed by NIC-National Informatics Centre, is being utilized for the maintenance of accounts to avoid discrepancies.
  • SAMS- Student Academic Monitoring System is being utilized to monitor the attendance &performance of the students & teachers.
  • Uniforms, bedding material, and towels have been provided to all the students of the society through TSCO.
  • Notebooks & records have been provided to all the students through TSTPC.
  • Annapurna Software is being utilized to monitor the stock issued at the institution level and also monitor the diet being provided to the students every day.
  • E-Plus club activity has been carefully designed to increase the confidence of the students and give them a platform where they can practice and communicate without any inhibitions.
  • Accountants of TTWRD Colleges have been trained in the implementation of FAS, HAS, SAMS & Annapurna Software.
  • SUPER NOVA programme conducted at TTWRC(W), Janagoan in March 2018, to ignite passion and competition among the students.
  • Constitution of College Council - The School Council is constituted in every College to empower students thereby empowering the entire institution as a whole. Each council constitutes a Captain, Vice-Captain, House Captain, House Vice-Captain, Literary Secretary, Sports Secretary and cultural Secretary.
  • Impact - All the residential Colleges organise the Impact Programme thrice a year on a grand scale to create awareness about the art of parenting, the importance of education, the due importance of regularity to the school, storming career opportunities, for education of dogmas like early child (girl) marriages, etc., among the tribal parents (population).
  • QUEST Programme has been introduced in which either the head of the institution or the selected lecturers will  visit the native village of their student/s to establish an interaction with the parents of the students.
  • PANACEA Health Services 24x7 - Round-the-clock monitoring the health of all students from a Centralised Command Centre in Hyderabad to address, direct and route the queries related to the health of the students of the Society.
