1. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
1.1 INTRODUCTION
The Government of Telangana gives utmost importance to education and has resolved to provide a free
education policy from KG to PG. The commencement of 22 TTWRDCs in the state of Telangana took place in
the year 2017, as stated in G.O. Ms. No. 40 Dt. 06.07.2017.These degree colleges were launched to cater to the
higher educational needs of the students of unprivileged sections of society and to enhance their confidence
levels by acquiring the highest level of academic excellence coupled with excellent communication skills and
other interpersonal skills to transform themselves into the best citizens of the nation.
The Telangana Tribal Welfare Degree College (Boys), Boath, at Adilabad, is one of the 22 tribal welfare degree
colleges in Telangana established under TTWREIS (GURUKULAM). The college was established on
September 8th, 2017 and is located near Polytechnic College Road, Adilabad, Adilabad District. The college is
affiliated with Kakatiya University, Warangal.Our college has been excelling in academics and other fronts
under the dynamic leadership of the secretary, with his think tank at the helm of the affairs of Gurukulam. We
We are proud to share that the functioning of Gurukulam could attract the research team of Harvard University
recently to make a visit to the institutions run by Gurukulam. The institute is committed to the philosophy of
“educating, enlightening, emancipatingand empowering the students.
Our institute offers a range of undergrad programs in arts, commerce, science, computer Science and
technology. We are known for our strong programs in traditional subjects such as B.A., B.Com., and B.Sc., as
well as in more specialized areas such as BA (HEP), B.Com. (CA), B.Sc. (Data Science), B.Sc. (BZC), and
B.Sc. (MPCS). We have a rich library, and about 330 students are pursuing their undergrads successfully.In
In addition to our academic programs, we also offer a range of extracurricular activities, including N.S.S., N.C.C.,
Fine Arts Forums and various literary associations. Our students have participated in seminars, camps, study tours and various competitions.

Our mission is to enable the tribal students residing in the remote regions of Adilabad to unlock their complete
capabilities and make valuable contributions to the progress of their communities and society as a whole. We

1.2 Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunitiesand Challenges (SWOC)
Institutional Strength
A committed management team, dedicated Principal and experienced Qualified teaching and nonteaching
staff.
A supportive and friendly atmosphere between teachers and students.
There is a strong emphasis on community and social work in addition to traditional classroom teaching.
A well-stacked library with over 6828 books, journals, and periodicals.
Student involvement in eco-friendly activities such as tree plantation and nature visits.
A range of support services and welfare programs for staff and students.
In fact, a few lecturers are allotted for confidential duties related to UGC NET. And they are also
engaged in the preparation of question papers for various competitive exams, which are going to be
conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
Energy-saving initiatives were adopted. Water conservation is achieved through rain-harvesting pits and
organic manure.
We are equipped with Thirty-two Computers used for academic and administrative purposes. There are
Two digital classrooms for the purpose of ICT-enabled learning, which makes the teaching and learning
process interesting.
Skill Development program of our college is used to train the students in Computer skills, Analytical
skills, Arithmetic skills, and other such employability skills. Various employment notification clippings
are displayed on the notice board of Job Corner as part of Career guidance cell.
Students are provided with a uniform dress code, and ID Cards are maintained
Continuous internal assessment, several class tests and regular feedback ensure academic excellence is
maintained.
MOUs were signed with various institutions to promote student and faculty exchange.
Quality food, according to the prescribed menu of TTWREIS, is provided to all the students.
The health of the students is consistently monitored by the Health Center (Panacea) to ensure the
provision of high-quality services.
Institutional Weakness
Some of the drawbacks encountered are
Infrastructural facilities like classrooms, laboratories, library, computer facilities and language
laboratories could be further improved with financial assistance from the Government.
Most of the students from rural areas with a Telugu-medium background are facing difficulties learning
English. To bridge this gap, we have introduced bridge courses at the beginning of each semester.
Sports facilities need to be further upgraded.
Institutional Opportunity
In future, the Institution can tie up with the garment companies around to conduct specific outcomebased
short-term courses to train and equip the students to get higher posts in the field of exports in the popular companies of Telangana State.
Add-on programs and inter-disciplinary short-term course could be introduced.

Institutional Challenge
Providing a systematic learning process to help students from low socioeconomic backgrounds adapt to
a new learner-friendly environment and perform at their best.
Inviting qualified resource persons from reputed universities and colleges to address the students
without proper financial support is always a challenge for teachers.
Conducting seminars and conferences does need some basic additional infrastructure, like a bigger
auditorium, which is currently a challenge.
Another challenge is to motivate the students to pursue self-employment and entrepreneurship to
enhance their prospects.
1.3 CRITERIA WISE SUMMARY
Curricular Aspects
The curricular aspect, one of the key indicators, is considered pivotal in shaping the knowledge pool as we seek
to achieve the goal of excellence in higher education. The curricular aspect of the Self Study Report of
Telangana Tribal Welfare Residential Degree College (Boys) Boath represents a well-structured curriculum
with a detailed account of curriculum planning and implementation with emphasis on the vision, mission, goals,
and objectives. The institution has well-structured action plans for effective implementation of the curriculum
with the assistance of the members of the teaching faculty.
Being an affiliated college under Kakatiya University, the college is bound by the prescribed curriculum
as stated by the university. However, the introduction of the choice-based credit system has opened a
new vista to satisfy the quest for knowledge.
The progress of the students is facilitated by the knowledge and wisdom of the faculty members from
different departments within the institution.
The teaching process is carefully planned with the help of an academic planner, which is created at the
start of each academic year and contains valuable information about the institution.
The students are encouraged to develop adaptable skills that will enable them to seize future
opportunities. Each semester, the departments organize a suitable number of seminars, conferences, and
workshops to inspire and guide the students in staying updated in their respective fields of study.
The high quality of teaching in the institution equips the students with the necessary tools to secure
promising positions in the job market.
The institute adheres to the guidelines set by IQAC and conducts an annual evaluation of the curriculum by gathering feedback from all stakeholders. This feedback is carefully analysed and discussed in departmental
meetings, leading to necessary actions being taken after consultation with the principal. The actions taken are
based on the feedback analysis and encompass improvements in infrastructure, the implementation of valueadded courses, and the enhancement of student facilities, including tutoring and other available resources.
Teaching-learning and Evaluation
Teaching, learning, and evaluation form the core axis of the institution. The institute boasts a diverse student
body, with most coming from the local community.
To foster inclusivity, the institute ensures that it provides adequate facilities for differently-abled
students.
Over the past five years, an average of approximately 930 students have enrolled in the institute.
Upon admission, each student's learning level is assessed, and special activities are organized to cater to
both advanced and slow learners. The institute's faculties employ student-centric teaching methods such
as experiential learning, participatory learning, and problem-solving methodologies.
To enhance the educational experience, the institute utilizes various innovative teaching and learning
methods and tools.Furthermore,teachers are encouraged to pursue higher qualifications and awards,
resulting in several faculty members being awarded Ph.D. degrees and qualifying with NET & SET.
Student performance is evaluated through a range of assessments, including assignments, unit tests,
seminars, quizzes, projects, and group discussions.
To make the teaching-learning process more effective, preparation of the academic calendar, lesson plans,
monitoring class attendance, efficient utilization of laboratories and libraries, use of blended modes of
education and effective assessment methods have been introduced so that program outcomes, program-specific
outcome and course outcomes can be achieved. Identification of advanced and slow learners and qualitative
improvement in the teaching-learning process have been initiated by the institution. There is a lot of emphasis
on the development of teaching and learning skills through knowledge in pedagogy and a structured annual
academic plan. Besides, the students have been given good exposure to activities like debates, seminars,
symposia, workshops, field tour and hands-on training. The teaching and learning process has been aided by an
advanced library network based on the latest technology and software.
Research, Innovations and Extension
The teachers at the institution contribute to the enhancement of teaching activities through their research
endeavours.
The institution consistently promotes and supports faculty members in conducting research work. Over
the past few years, a considerable number of teachers have successfully obtained their Ph.D. degrees,
which is evident in the self-study report.
Some faculty members have enrolled themselves in Ph.D. programs during this period. The institution
encourages faculty members to publish papers in UGC-referred journals, international journals, and
edited book volumes.
Students are encouraged to actively participate in these activities, enabling them to develop empathy for
societal problems and expand their knowledge through direct engagement with the local community.
The institution's NSS wing organizes various programs such as blood donation camps, road safety awareness camps, anti-tobacco awareness programs, dengue and malaria awareness programs, as well as
health and eye check-up camps.
The institution promotes faculty and student exchange programs with other institutions and organizes
field studies and trips to broaden the students' horizons.
The college has also established functional Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with other
institutions to cater to the students' needs.
The institution organizes seminars and workshops to encourage the students. The faculties publish their
papers in UGC-registered journals and internationally reputed journals and edited books.
Infrastructure and Learning Resources
Any academic institution depends on infrastructure and learning resources for the dissemination of education
and information. This in turn facilitates the all-round growth and development of the institution.
The college is aware of the need for infrastructural services and resources for the betterment of teaching
and learning, research, office management, the upgrading of libraries and laboratories, financial services
and many other purposes relating to admission, registration, evaluation, and student progression.
The college has implemented various measures to enhance its infrastructure and improve the learning
resources available to its students. Initially, over the past seven years, the college has acquired
additional desktop computers, printers, and scanners to support both administrative and academic tasks.
These devices are accessible to all stakeholders based on their specific needs and requirements.
Furthermore, the college utilizes these resources for evaluation and assessment purposes. Additionally,
the college has invested in software for financial accounting, student admissions, registration, and
library management and has ensured a high-speed internet connection.
Financial resources are allocated towards the maintenance of both hardware and software components
of the infrastructure.
Moreover, certain classrooms have been equipped with modern amenities such as smart boards and
projectors, promoting ICT-based academic activities. Students can also access the Online Public Access
Catalogue (OPAC) and eBooks through Inflibnet-Nlist.
To further enrich the cultural experience, a new open stage has been constructed for hosting various cultural
programs. Lastly, indoor gaming facilities have been made available for the students' recreational activities.
Student Support and Progression
Our institute strives to support the overall development of our students by providing a healthy environment.
The Institution serves as the second home to the students, providing them with every facility they need to
complete their educational objectives.
Well-equipped labs and library support them for enhancing their knowledge.
Sports activities are alive throughout the year and the students have been encouraged to represent the
institution in various competitions across the State and the University in indoor and outdoor games such
as Kabaddi, volleyball, basket ball, Tennis and chess. The physical director personally accompanies
them to various places to help them take part in the competitions.
There are various committees: Grievance redressal Cell, Placement and Career Guidance Cell, NSS,
Anti-Ragging, ELC Club, Anti-Drug Committee (tobacco-free), Discipline Committee, Vigilance awareness Committee and Cultural Committee, which function effectively for the benefit and
sustenance of the students.
The institution has implemented various initiatives to enhance capacity and skills for the students'
benefit. These initiatives encompass soft skills, language, and communication skills, as well as life skills
such as Yoga and meditation.
The college consistently organizes diverse programs to develop soft skills, public speaking, group
discussions, job-oriented training, interview skills, and more. As a result, numerous students from the
college have successfully qualified for UGC NET/SET and other competitive examinations upon
graduating from the institution. Additionally, some of these accomplished students also conduct classes
and share their experiences with current students.
In the initial induction program for the students admitted every year, they are well informed of the
existence of each committee and they get introduced to the committee members so that it would be easy
for them to approach the staff members for any assistance.
In addition, the committees are available in the institutional website. Every effort is made to build the overall
development and competencies of students by organizing workshops and training programs to improve their
soft skills, communication skills, life skills, ICT literacy, etc. Every year, several students’ progress to higher

Governance, Leadership and Management
The institute aligns its vision and mission with national policies on higher education, focusing on
education as a means of nation-building and social reform.
To achieve this, the institute implements programs and activities such as NSS, NCC, Soft Skills
Development, Welfare Schemes, Sports, Cultural Programs and Career guidance, and plans to add valueadded
courses.
The institute fosters a culture of decentralization and participation through the appointment of
coordinators and various academic and administrative committees.
The Principal plays a key role in governing and managing the institute through the use of committees
such as IQAC and CGC.
The institute encourages faculty to participate in professional development opportunities such as
Orientation, Refresher Courses and Faculty Development Programs.Financial support is provided by
gurukulam for orientation and refresher courses.
The institute also supports faculty members in their pursuit of advanced degrees such as M.Phil. and
Ph.D. Faculty members are granted OD for attending Seminars, Workshops and Faculty Development
Programs. The institute has implemented e-governance in various areas such as Administration,
Finance, Accounts, Scholarships, Student Admissions and Examinations.
The institute has in place various welfare measures for both teaching and non-teaching staff.
The performance of teaching staff is evaluated through a performance-based Based Appraisal System
(PBAS) and an Self self-appraisal System (ASAR).
Efforts are made to secure funding from sources such as the university, UGC, DST and RUSA. The
institute's accounts are audited regularly.
The IQAC works to ensure quality and enhance quality measures within the institute.
