Departments - Maths - Extension Activities
Topic: DIFFERENCIAL EQUTIONS
Objectives of the Programme:
- Recognize differential equations that can be solved by each of the three methods
- Direct integration, separation of variables and integrating factor method
- Use the appropriate method to solve them. use an initial condition to find a particular solution of a differential equation, given a general solution.
Highlighting points:
- A differential equation is a mathematical equation that relates some function with its derivatives.
- In applications, the functions usually represent physical quantities, the derivatives represent their rates of change
- The differential equation defines a relationship between the two.
A guest lecture on “DIFFERENCIAL EQUTIONS”
Outcome:
- Will be able to solve first-order ordinary differential equations.
- Will be able to find solution of higher-order linear differential equations.
- Will be able to solve systems of linear differential equations.
