IQAC - Role
The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) plays a pivotal role in ensuring and enhancing the quality of education and overall institutional development in the college.
Functions :
- Development and Implementation of Quality Policies: IQAC formulates and implements policies, strategies, and action plans aimed at improving the quality of education, research, and other academic activities in the college.
- Documentation and Record Keeping: It maintains records related to academic programs, faculty qualifications, student performance, feedback mechanisms, and other relevant data to ensure transparency and accountability.
- Program Accreditation and Assessment: IQAC coordinates the accreditation process for academic programs and ensures compliance with quality standards set by accreditation bodies. It also facilitates internal and external assessment exercises to evaluate the effectiveness of academic programs and institutional processes.
- Faculty Development: IQAC organizes workshops, seminars, training programs, and other initiatives to enhance the teaching and research skills of faculty members. It also encourages faculty participation in conferences, research projects, and professional development activities.
- Curriculum Development and Review: IQAC collaborates with academic departments to review and revise the curriculum regularly to align it with industry trends, technological advancements, and evolving educational needs. It ensures that the curriculum is comprehensive, updated, and relevant to the current academic and professional landscape.
- Student Feedback and Grievance Redressal: IQAC establishes mechanisms for collecting feedback from students on various aspects of academic and non-academic activities. It also addresses student grievances promptly and ensures a conducive learning environment for all students.
- Promotion of Best Practices: IQAC identifies and promotes best practices in teaching, learning, assessment, and governance within the institution. It encourages the adoption of innovative teaching methodologies, use of technology-enhanced learning tools, and effective administrative practices.
- Quality Assurance Reviews and Audits: IQAC conducts periodic reviews, audits, and self-assessment exercises to evaluate the effectiveness of quality assurance mechanisms and identify areas for improvement. It monitors key performance indicators and benchmarks to measure progress towards institutional goals.
- Stakeholder Engagement: IQAC engages with various stakeholders, including students, parents, alumni, employers, and community members, to solicit feedback, foster partnerships, and enhance the relevance and impact of the college's educational programs.
