About the Department:

The Department of Telugu was established in the year 2017 with B.A., B.COM. Courses, B.Sc.,  BZC & B.Sc., MPC courses.

• Telugu has been major optional Second language subject for all these courses.
• Telugu is the official language of Telangana state. It is the Third largest speaking Language in India, After Hindi and Bengali

Brief History:

Background            - Known to exist since the time period 400 BC.

Significance            - One of the six classical languages of India.

Recognition           - The third most spoken language in India.

Status                      - 2012 - Voted 2nd Best Script in the world - International Alphabet Association.

Comparison           - Also called - "Italian of the East".

Difficulties             - Though mother tongue but - Difficulty in effective communication.

Opportunities       - Writers/Script writers, Lyricists,Reporters/Journalists, Radio Jockey, Columnist, News                                      Readers and Sub-editor.
