NCC/NSS/IIC - NCC
The National Cadet Corps is a Tri-Services Organization, comprising the Navy, Army and Air Force, aimed to make the youth of the country into disciplined and patriotic citizens, which was created under the Indian Defense Act, 1917 with the objective to make up the shortage of the Army. Upon the recommendation of the committee headed by Pandit H N, National Cadet Corps came into existence under the National Cadet Corps Act XXXI of 1948 under the Ministry of Defense (MoD). The National Cadet Corps is the youth wing of Armed Forces with its Headquarters at New Delhi, Delhi, India. It is open to school and college students on a voluntary basis.
During the 1965 and 1971 wars with Pakistan, NCC cadets were the second line of defence. Rather than just being the second line of defence, NCC syllabus laid a greater stress on developing qualities of leadership and Officer-like qualities. The military training which the NCC cadets received was reduced and greater importance was given to other areas like social service and youth-management.
TTWREIS has taken a lead and joined the “elite NCC-University Corps” to train its students to join the services as officers under FSFS category. TTWRDC (W) Mahabub nagar is a sub unit of 8 (T) NCC BTN Mahabubnagar. with 80 total cadets enrolment for 3 years. this program offers ‘B’ and ‘C’ certificates for Senior wing (SW) cadets. Each year 27 First year students from various groups (B.sc , B.com, BA) were enrolled for NCC. The college has an NCC Office and parade ground for cadets. College has hired a parade instructor for drill and weapon etc of military training.
TTWREIS strongly supports NCC training both financially and morally at the campus.
