TGTWR Degree College is established in 2017 at Bommakal village, Karimnagar district .The college is affiliated to the Satavahana university.The college was sanctioned vide G.O.M.S.NO.40 TW Dept, Edn, Date: 06 - 07- 2017.Telugu Department was started since the inception of the college.

K.Ranjith Kumar and Dr T.Bhojanna  worked as lecturers from inception of the department to 2019. M.Raj kumar and J.Mallesh have been lecturers since 2019.
Telugu language, largest member of the Dravidian language family. Primarily spoken in southeastern India, it is the official language of the states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. In the early 21st century Telugu had more than 75 million speakers.
Bommalamma gutta inscription is the oldest evidence of the use of Telugu for literature, pushing back the history of poetic use of the language by a century. In Karimnagar district, near Kurikyala village, on a hillock known as Bommalagutta, is the 11-line rock inscription spread across 25 feet. It is an ideal and proud symbol of Telugu literature, which is nearer to college.

• The Department of Telugu has opted to promote the official language of Telangana
• By offering different classics from ancient and modern literature we enable the students to develop good character, moral values and social responsibilities.
• Implementing students centric methods like seminars, Group discussions, Projects & Queries we enable the students to improve communicative skills.
