B.Sc. ZOOLOGY COURSE OUT COMES

 

SEM I : ANIMAL DIVERSITY - INVERTIBRETS

  • To acquire the knowledge of microscopic living organisms, general characters & classification of the animals, and the comparison origin and evolution of cell and a cellular.
  • To the knowledge acquire about the invertebrates diseases (viral,bacterial, fungal, heiminths and protozoal).
  • To the know cells and spicules, coral and coral reef formation, regeneration and symmetry.
  • To acquire the knowledge of economic importance of invertebrates.

SEM II : ANIMAL DIVERSITY - VERTEBRATES

  • To acquire the knowledge of general characters & classification of the animals and the comparison origin and evolution of vertebrates.
  • To know the general characters & classification of vertebrates.
  • To gain knowledge about digestive, respiratory, circulatory, nervous and reproductive systems of vertebrates.
  • To acquire the knowledge of economic importance of vertebrates.

SEM III : ANIMAL PHYSIOLOGY AND ANIMAL BEHAVIOUR

  • To know the homeostasis and osmoregulation - hormone regulation of blood glucose levels in human being.
  • To gain knowledge about digestive, respiratory, circulatory, nervous & muscular mechanisms of animals.
  • To know the endocrine gland - structure, secretions and functions.
  • To know the animal behavior, learning, memory and biological rhythms.

SEM IV : CELL BIOLOGY, GENETICS & DEVELOPMENTAL BIOLOGY

  • To gain knowledge regarding of the unit of life that is cell, cell structure, types, functions and various organelles of the cell - structure and function's.
  • To gain knowledge about DNA structure and replication, RNA structure, types and functions which is very useful at molecular level of genes in various aspects of life quality of genetical characters forensic method of living organisms.
  • To acquire the knowledge about genetical aspects.
  • To acquire the knowledge of the development of male and female gamets (spermatogenesis & oogenesis)  and embryo, fertilization methods to develop with new genetically combinations leading to new varieties.

SEM V : IMMUNOLOGY AND ANIMAL BIOTECHNOLOGY

  • To know about immune system - types, structure, functions and antigen-antibody reactions.
  • To know about cloning - methods & vectors.
  • To know about transgenesis, trangenesis methods and transgenic animals.
  • To gain knowledge about IVF & ET, hybridoma technology, stem cells, biopesticides and animal bioreactors.

SEM VI : ECOLOGY, ZOOGEOGRAPHY & EVOLUTION

  • The students will learn about ecosystem structure and its functions.
  • To learn conceots of spices, population dynamics and growth curves.
  • To know about zoogeographical regions.
  • To learn about theories of evolution.
