CGC: Functioning And Out Comes Related To EEE

The idea of 'Career Guidance Cell' is to create a safe place for students in seeking guidance, making well-informed decisions and building themselves a pragmatic career. This cell works to help students in finding ways to put their intellect, well-earned skills and interests to use, as they figure out their future. Our CGC has now become an integral part of the institution.

 

Details of the CGC: The CGC consists of a Coordinator, an Assistant Coordinator and four members from different departments (Arts, Sciences, Commerce & Computer Science) in the college. Their particulars and contact details are as follows:

Functioning of the cell: 

The ‘Career Guidance Cell (CGC)’ works with the sole objective of enhancing the students’ skills and ensuring awareness of the opportunities after their graduation. It provides assistance and advice to the students with the support of the rest of the faculty. The cell particularly focuses on the outgoing students as to help them realise their future in higher education, employment or entrepreneurship. The students are profiled into these three categories as to serve their interests, capabilities and needs.

Education:

  • This wing encourages the students to pursue higher education in reputed universities, institutions across the world.
  • The students are encouraged and assisted in applying for various higher educational courses in institutions such as TISS, Azim Premji University, BHU, Central Universities, etc.
  • The required information and guidance regarding these opportunities is shared with the students via displays, newspaper clippings, emails, etc.
  • A one-hour slot in the outgoing batch’s academic timetable is allotted exclusively for PG entrance coaching.
  • The concerned subject faculty interact with the students in this slot to coach them in their respective fields.
  • Weekly and grand tests are conducted as to evaluate the students’ progress and further requirements.
  • The students are provided with the prescribed material, mock tests, one-on-one counselling, guest lectures, etc to serve their needs.
  • The corresponding material, test papers, previous entrance question papers, etc are placed in the library.
  • Eight (08) students from the college are selected to attend SPARK institution, Nacharam for intensive coaching for higher education.
  • ANIL BZC III got admission for M.Sc Chemistry in NIT SURATKAL .

M – Skills 360 :

It’s a 15 days training program where the students equipped with necessary knowledge for competitive examinations precisely covering the topics like Quantitative aptitude, reasoning, data analysis and Interpretation. This program is very insightful and beneficial for the students.

Employment:

  • The students who are interested and need employment after their graduation are identified along with their fields of interest.
  • These students are regularly made aware of the career opportunities, eligibilities and selection patterns in the employment field.
  • A one-hour CGC slot is exclusively allotted in their academic timetable which helps students improve their employability skills.
  • The students are trained in 4 aspects: General English, Arithmetic and Logical Reasoning, Soft skills and MS Office in this CGC slot.
  • Group discussions, debates, mock interviews, JAM sessions, mock tests, etc are held so that the students are well-equipped for their actual interviews.
  • Guest lectures by employees of various departments are conducted as to guide and motivate the aspirants.
  • The students are provided with internet accessibility to improve their computer application skills, awareness, etc.
  • The students are assisted in creating and actively utilising their email accounts.
  • A week of interactive training sessions was held in the college by Mahendra Tech Pride classrooms. The sessions helped students improve their communication skills, soft skills, etc.
  • Four (06) students from the college have qualified the TCS NQT and have attended the follow-up interviews.
  • Four (04) students from the college have attended the M-skills training organized by the society. These students have actively shared their acquired knowledge with the rest of the aspirants in the college.
  • M. SANDEEP KUMAR MPC III  got selected as HR recruiter
  • The students have also applied for various summer internship and fellowship programs.

NAANDI Foundation: 

It is a skill development training for Employability conducted for the final year students who are enthusiastic in the field of employment. The training was conducted in accordance with NAANDI FOUNDATION, contains activities designed to develop learners skills in areas like self management, team working, problem solving and communication.

 

Entrepreneurship:

  • The Entrepreneurship Development Cell is playing an active role in encouraging the students in this aspect.
  • The students are also encouraged to start S mall.

Information of various Entrance Examinations

1. GRE (Graduate Record Examination):

What is GRE?

- Verbal Reasoning: Measures the ability to analyze and evaluate written material.

2. TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language):

- Reading: Measures the ability to understand academic reading material.

- Listening: Assesses the ability to understand spoken English.

- Speaking: Evaluates the ability to speak about familiar topics as well as tasks that require integrated skills.
