Minority Cell

 

At Telangana Tribal Welfare Residential Degree College for Men (TGTWRDC (MEN)) Nagarkurnool, the Minority Cell is dedicated to empowering minority communities within the college, supporting them in their academic, extracurricular, and co-curricular pursuits. Its mission is to ensure equal opportunities for holistic development among minority students, including those from Christian, Muslim, Jain, and other backgrounds. The cell strives to enhance educational access and foster an inclusive environment.

Objectives:

  • Ensure equal educational opportunities for minority students.
  • Facilitate financial assistance from governmental agencies and other sources.
  • Inform minority students about available scholarship schemes from Central and          State Governments.
  • Encourage participation in college courses, workshops, and programs to equip students with career-oriented skills.
  • Provide prompt counseling for emotional emergencies and grievance redressal mechanisms.
  • Functions and Activities:
  • Collect and disseminate information on government and UGC directives regarding minority student education and employment.
  • Publicize Central and State Government scholarship schemes and updates.
  • Coordinate with other college cells and committees to ensure the participation of minority students in various activities.
  • Identify minority students needing special assistance or advanced guidance in academics.
  • Ensure representation of minority members in the Minority Cell Committee.
  • Composition:
  • The Minority Cell Committee comprises:
  • Convener
  • Two teaching staff members (including at least one from a minority community)
  • One non-teaching staff member
  • College Librarian
  • College Director of Physical Education & Sports
  • Head Clerk

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Foster a safe and secure environment for minority students.
  • Promote awareness of government scholarship programs.
  • Assist minority students in applying for scholarships.
  • Maintain records of scholarship recipients.
  • Stay updated on government directives related to minority education and employment.
  • Organize capacity-building programs for minority students.
  • Address grievances of minority students.
  • Provide enrollment reports to relevant government departments/commissions.
  • The Minority Cell at TGTWRDC (MEN) Nagarkurnool is committed to promoting inclusivity and empowering minority students to thrive academically and beyond.
