Campus Life - Green Campus
Our College is situated amidst the green fields. We are fortunate to get fresh air to breathe and enjoy the nature, on a daily basis. Thus, it is our responsibility to ensure that we too practice green measures within the campus and promote the same beyond the campus.
The following steps are taken up in the campus.

Seedballs/seed bombs
Apart from this, the college also practices making of seed balls/seed bombs.
We use seeds of tamarind from the mess and neem seeds and banyan seeds
from the surrounding trees, the local soil and clay to make these seed balls.
These are later distributed to faculty and students who throw these balls, when they travel to other places.
Segregation of waste
The college practices separation of biodegradable and non biodegradable waste.
Most of the waste from the mess is biodegradable and is given away to a local sty
to feed the cattle. The plastic, paper and other waste materials are discarded in a proper manner.
Replacing plastic in the campus
The college is trying to replace the use of plastic with non plastic items.
We also use jute bags to store files and certificates of the students.
The college practices gifting eco-friendly jute products and saplings to the guests, staff and the students.

Water Conservation
Water is the source of life and thus conservation of water is an important practice taken up by the college. The College has an RO plant and the rejected water is diverted into a storage tank and attached to three taps. This water is used for watering the plants and washing the mess. The college also had a rainwater harvesting system. Thus wastage of water is optimised to a maximum level.
Energy Conservation

The college has changed tube lights and bulbs in the college to LED. Further, it has become a habitual practice to switch off lights and fans, whenever not required thus saving energy. The college also has two solar panels with lights for illuminating the entrance during the night. The LPG cooking gas is used in the mess and measures are taken to reduce the gas consumption as far as possible.
Healthy Thursday
The College has a unique practice of cleaning the college, classrooms, dormitory and the surroundings every Thursday. The students are encouraged to participate and clean the campus and make it plastic free. They are taught the responsibility towards the protection of the environment.
Awareness Programmes
The college has conducted several awareness programmes and extension activities on stopping the usage of single use plastic covers, cycle rally on energy conservation, Solar energy, wastage of food, wastage of water, power consumption and so on.
Participation of All
The college encourages all the students and staff to participate in various Green practices within the college, at home and beyond. Thus, the message is spread.
