About Us - TTWRDCLSW - Nizamabad
Telangana Tribal Welfare Residential Degree College (W), Nizamabad is one of the 22 Tribal Welfare Residential Degree colleges, established in the State of Telangana under the aegis of TTWREIS, Tribal Welfare, Gurukulam. It is the outcome of the 'KG to PG' free education policy of the Government of Telangana that started with the academic year 2016/17.
Tribal Welfare Colleges were launched to cater to the needs of higher education of the students coming from the most backward and secluded sections of the Telangana State.
The TTWREIS Tribal Welfare Gurukulam has been originated from the APTWREIS which was established in the year 1984.The Society has started its great journey with the herculean task of transforming 270 Residential schools into the centers of excellence in not only academics but also its co-curricular and extra-curricular fronts. Its journey has been continued up to the year 1998. In the year 1998, the society has been bifurcated in to two facilitating the way for the creation of Tribal Welfare from Social Welfare by allocating 65 Residential School. Thereafter in the year 1999 the APTWREIS declared as autonomous society to guide its institutions to accomplish national level educational standards. Smt K. Seetha Lakshmi, IAS, is the present Secretary of TTWREIS and the guiding force.
It was in the year 2014 a new state Telangana was formed with Sri Kalvakuntla Chandrasekhar Rao garu is the first Chief Minister of newly formed state of Telangana.
The Government of Telangana giving utmost importance to the education and has resolved to provide KG to PG free education policy to provide free education and in the year 2017 was the beginning of (22) TTWRDCs in the state of Telangana Vide G.O Ms. No. 40, Dt: 06.07.2017.
Among those (22) TTWRD Colleges 15 colleges have been allocated to women to transform themselves into the most empowered women of the society postponing their marriage till they stand on their own legs. The other 7 colleges were allocated to men to flourish themselves into the highly Knowledgeable students to compete with their counter parts from the upper strata of the society. Keeping with the spirits of the ideals of the Gurukulam our college TTWRDC (W), Nizamabad aims not only at the academic excellence of the students but also gives equal importance to their future careers and opportunities.
