  • Briefly describe the general characters of vertebrates .
  • Describe the four characters that are unique to vertebrates
  • Briefly describe the classification of vertebrates .
  • Be able to describe the structure and functions of vertebrate animals.
  • And describe the system of vertebrates.

SEMESTER - III

Paper –III (Animal physiology and Animal behavior )

Outcomes:

  • Animal physiology helps us to understand the functions of important physiological systems including the digestive   cardio- respiratory, renal, reproductive, nervous and muscular systems.
  • Animal behavior helps us to analyze the life sustaining, controlling and coordinating systems.
  • Animal behavior helps us to analyze the various behavioral patterns in animals.
  • Animal physiology helps us to understand the fundamental biology of all animals, human health and diseases.

SEMESTER – IV

Paper-IV(Cell biology, Genetics and Developmental biology)

Outcomes:

  • Cell biology helps distinguish between prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells.
  • Cell biology helps to describe the structure and function of eukaryotic and prokaryotic cells.
  • Genetics explain that genes may be transferred between the cells.
  • Genetics helps to outline the difference between DNA,GENES AND CHROMOSOMES.
  • Genetics help to state complementary base pairing.
  • Developmental biology helps to describe the morphological processes that transform a fertilized egg into a multicellular organism.

SEMESTER -V

Paper – v (Immunology and Animal biotechnology)

Outcomes:

  • Be able to describe the structure of animal genes and genomes.
  • Be able to describe gene transfer technology for animals and animal cell lines.
  • Be able to describe techniques and problems both technical and ethical in animal cloning.

SEMESTER – VI

Paper-VI(Ecology, zoogeography and evolution)

Outcomes:

  • Evolution should be able to establish the relationship of the food webs.
  • Briefly describe the non cyclical nature of energy flow, pollutions.
  • Zoo geography interpret geographic distribution of animal species in nature at present.
  • Explain biotic and abiotic interactions in influencing animal distribution.
  • Evolution understands that natural selection is one of several processes that can bring about evolution.
  • Understand that the three necessary and sufficient conditions for natural selection to occur are

1.struggle for existence

2. variation  3. Inheritance.
