FIELD TRIPS

Field trip has been introduced by gurukulam to reinforce experimental and contextual learning. These are the way of enhancing classroom learning by making real world connection. Field trips expose the students to different life styles, places people and culture. They provide great way to bring excitement and adventure to learning.

​​Microbiology Field Trip- As a part of field trip, final year students were taken to Vijaya dairy farm near Sarangpur. The staff there explained and demonstrated MBRT for assessing milk quality, ghee making, pasteurization of milk, making of curd, packing, and storing of milk and curd. With this visit, the students gained knowledge about the various products that can be extracted from milk and how it can be commercialized.

Chemistry Field Trip- As a part of field trip students of final year, Chemistry were taken to Vijaya dairy milk farm near Sarangpur. Students were able to learn how to use a lactometer to know the quality of milk, determine fat quantity in milk by Gerber centrifugation method, they also showed how to extract fat from milk by demonstration method. By this trip students got a live experience of how the milk is processed.

Botany Field trip- Took BZC final year students to nearby places at the college and explained about different plants, their habitats, and ecological adaptations. Students collected medicinal plants and noted down their uses.

Zoology Field trip- As a part of field trip, students of final year BZC & MZC were taken to a pond near Arsapally to collect the specimens from pond water. The students gained knowledge about zooplankton, collected species of Annelida, and mollusks.

Field trips are the one more interesting thing which provide students with new opportunities for learning through experience: Information is presented to students in a way that meets different learning modalities. Field trips provide students with the ability to learn by doing instead of just passively listening to the information being taught in class.

Field trips are offered to each and every student of the college with respective of their subjects.
