Academic Activities

The academic centers of Gurukulam provide opportunities for students and faculty to engage with learning and enrichment in various domains of inquiry, promoting collaboration across organizational boundaries and so complementing the College's Schools, Departments, and Programs. 

The academic centers offer intellectual engagement, community outreach and service, co-curricular opportunities, and commitment to interdisciplinary research and applications with direct connections to the College's academic degree programs.

Students and faculty participate in center activities in a variety of ways, including research projects, symposia, lectures, and other activities that bring together faculty and students from every department.

Republic day celebrations -2024

In view of Republic day celebrations -2024 In platoon  -12 NCC cadets (SW) of our sub unit  participated in parade at Police parade ground , Nizamabad. Trainee IAS  congratulated the NCC platoon for their performance Wished  all the best for their future endeavours. 12  senior Ncc cadets of our sub unit received a certificate of appreciation .
Honourable District Collector of Nizamabad  Rajeev Gandhi Hanumanthu sir presented certificates for 12NCC senior  cadets and to  CTO G.Bhargavi and PI staff B.Kavitha . Sir , appreciated the cadets for their parade .

National Girl Child Day

Department of Chemistry has conducted "National Girl Child Day" on 24/01/2024.

Theme for 2024 is empowering every girl to break barriers, pursue education and  contribute to building a brighter future." Wishing all the incredible girls a day filled with love, encouragement and endless possibilities. 

Based on this, students performed skit in creating awareness on education and empowering them.

NATIONAL VOTER'S DAY

Department of Mathematics and Statistics has celebrated Voter's day on 25/01/2024

On this occasion sir Narra Rama  Rao retired Gazzited head master and Narsimha garu  who is a District president of Jana Vignana Vedika. 

Sir Rama Rao garu talked on this occasion he has elaborately explained past and present elections. He has clearly explained about the preamble of the Constitution he has urged the students to learn the PREAMBLE. He has also said to the students that don't sit silent as long as you are silent in the society they might lose their rights. Talking on this occasion he has also said how important the girls or the women play role in the family so she has to be given importance in the society. He said youth play an important role in society. 

Students taken an oath on this occasion  saying 

‘We the citizens of India, having abiding faith in democracy, hereby pledge to uphold the democratic traditions of our  country and the dignity of free, fair and peaceful elections, and to vote in every election fearlessly and without being influenced by considerations of religion, race, caste, community, language or any inducement’

All the students and students have participated actively on this occasion.

MOTTO

Swachh Gurukulam Drive (SGD) is an initiative of the Gurukulam Institutions to instil a moral responsibility in everyone to keep their surroundings clean. The Gurukulam Society aims to provide quality education to students, generate ethically strong and morally elevated individuals for a better tomorrow. As the saying goes, Cleanliness is next to Godliness, keeping ones surroundings clean would save everyone from diseases like cholera, malaria, dengue and other contaminated food and water-borne diseases.

SGD is instructed to be observed in all the institutions for one week (5th Sept to 11th Sept 2022). The program included the Principal, Teachers, Students, Parents, Local representatives, District officials, and Head Office officials. Each day has been meticulously planned and organized in a manner that would ensure complete sanitation of the institution by disposing off scrap of any kind and beautifying the campus with plantations and drawings. Creative minds of the students are put to work through various activities. The detailed description of each day’s work has been enclosed hereunder.

03/09/2022              Prelaunch and pre-preparation of SGD

Principal and faculties, along with the student council members visited MPDO Office. Swachh Gurukul Drive poster was launched by Vice MPP Sailoo Garu. In the evening,Upa-Sarpanch of Chakradhar Nagar Thanda, Mr. Thukaram Garu launched SGD poster in the presence of all faculties and students.

DAY 1           LITTER PICKING AND WASTE DISPOSAL

05/09/2022

The day began with the taking of Swachta Pledge by all students and faculties. The activities of the day included picking of litter of all kinds- plastic, paper, old clothes, etc., and segregating it. Old, broken, and unused furniture of all kinds was also collected and put together in the college ground. Students, teaching and non-teaching staff actively participated with lots of enthusiasm with an aim to make a cleaner campus. The scrap collected was weighed to be sold to dealers. Three dealers were invited for quotations and the scrap was disposed of according to the protocol. The details of scrap collected was as follows-

Note Books- 170Kg, Exam papers- 76Kg, Carton- 11Kg, Plastic- 10Kg, Iron- 50Kg.

DAY 2          cleaning college building and dormitories

06/09/2022

Day 2 was scheduled to clean the dormitories and classrooms with disinfectants. The terraces, porticos were cleaned with sky brooms. Electrician was called in to fix the damaged lights and fans. Students cleaned their class rooms and dormitories while sweeping and sanitation workers cleaned the college premises with water. All the students participated with enthusiasm. Gram Panchayati members also helped in cleaning up the college premises with the help of tractor.The road to the college was evened with the help of the tractor.

Swachh Gurukul Drive poster was launched by Mission Bhagiratha Officer Mrs.Venkataramana Garu in the presence of student’s council and Faculties. Sir appreciated the college for the work being done.

DAY 3   cleaning washrooms and water tanks, competitions on importance in cleanliness

07/09/2022

Day 3 included cleaning the wash rooms, toilets, and water tank with the help of workers. The drainage blockages, cleaning outlets, water logging areas were all cleaned up by the scavengers. They worked a lot in making the campus clean.

Also, a number of competitions were conducted for the students. Poster presentations, slogan preparation, essay writing competition, elocution, and wall painting competitions were conducted for all the students. Students made the college colourful by their creative and thought-provoking paintings. Each of the criteria included faculties who conducted the competitions fairly and awarded points to the students.

DAY 4        CLEANLINESS DRIVE IN THE KITCHEN AND THE DINING AREA

08/09/2022

Day 4 included cleaning the Kitchen area, Removal of cobwebs, Disposal of unused equipment in the kitchen, Repairing the non-working fans, tube lights, taps and fly catchers. Washing the dining area and the hand wash area with disinfectants, Closing the rat holes with cement. Cleaning the store room, Cleaning the terrace, Colouring the kitchen, cooking area and hand wash area. Cleaning the waste disposal area, Cleaning the bushes surrounding the college, Voluntary work by Parent association. Class 4 employees, Sweeping and sanitation workers, and labourers were engaged. All of them dedicatedly did the work assigned to them. Nearly 60 parents also actively participated in the program and helped in painting the kitchen and cleaning other areas.

OSD Mrs. N. Ashwini madam visited our college and launched poster of the day 4 activity. Madam visited each and every class room, dormitory, washrooms, wash areas, dining hall, seminar hall, and computer lab. Madam was happy with the work done so far and made a few valuable suggestions.

DAY 5    INNOVATIVE PLANTATION DRIVE

09/09/2022

Innovative Plantation drive included students, teaching and nonteaching staff forming groups. Each group selected a place in the college campus and made innovative plantation models.All faculties happily donated a variety of plants to the college. The plantation models included Vegetable garden, Hanging garden, Medicinal garden, Succulent garden, Flower garden, and Fruit Garden.

DAY 6       cultural eve depicting the significance of cleanliness

10/09/2022

On the day 6 students performed skits, dances, songs and flash mobs on the theme Swachh Bharath. Students danced their heart out and enjoyed a lot with these activities. Their happiness clearly was shown in the skits and dances they performed. All the teaching and non-teaching staff and principal madam were very happy with the result of the 6 days work.

DAY 7     CLOSING OF THE SWACHH GURUKUL DRIVE

11/09/2022

The closing ceremony commenced with oath taking by all students and faculties to continue this good program. The ceremony was witnessed by District officials who appreciated the students and faculties for the work done. MPDO Mr. Mallesh Garu, MPDO Superintendent Praveen Reddy Garu, Vice MPP Sailu Garu, Sarpanch Hari Nayak Garu, Ex.Sarpanch Madhukar Garu participated in the program. They expressed their happiness over all the work done and promised to lay a proper road to the college. Prizes were distributed by the dignitaries to the winners of various competitions.

Visit by official from Nizamabad collectorate

As per the instructions of the District Collector Sir, District Tribal Development Officer, Mr. K. Nago Rao Sir has visited our college on the 12th of Sept 2022.

Sir visited all the class rooms, Dormitories, dining hall, kitchen, hand wash area, toilets and washrooms, and verified the cleanliness. Sir also checked the maintenance of store room, dustbin cleanliness, water tank, RO plant, and college surroundings. Sir also visited the literature lab and NCC rooms. Sir made a few valuable suggestion.

Swatantra Bharata Vajrotsavalu (Diamond Jubilee Celebrations of Independence)

As a part of Swatantra Bharata Vajrotsavalu (Diamond Jubilee Celebrations of Independence), a number of programs were conducted beginning from the 8th and extending till the 22nd of August, 2022 (Dvisaptaham). The celebrations began by decorating the college premises with mango leaves, colourful flowers, and national flags. It was followed by showcasing of Gandhi movie to the students. As per the schedule, our college conducted a variety of indoor games and activities like Chess, Elocution, Singing, Rangoli, Essay writing etc., and outdoor games such as Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, and other competitions for the students. All the competitions were based on Independence Day themes. NSS and NCC cadres also participated in 2K run and Prabathabheri by displaying slogans and placards. As a part of Prabathabheri, students outreached the community through Independence-related songs and slogans. Students participated in Vanamahotsavam, where they planted saplings around the college premises. All the students and faculties participated with enthusiasm and patriotism. The students were encouraged with first and second prizes. Faculties also participated in Anthyakshari competition. The last day was marked by cultural activities, singing and speeches given by students and thoughts shared by faculties about Independence and the struggles our ancestors had to go through to obtain the freedom that we now freely enjoy. Guest lecturer on Guidance for competitive exams

Department of English organised a talk on Guidance for competitive exams on 10.04.2022 at 11 a.m. . Resource person Mr Santhosh sagar shared his own experiences and motivated the students. 

   He gave some tips and tricks on Aptitude and logical reasoning . Guided the students on how to prepare for competitive exams . counselled  the students on Career plans   especially How to focus on their goals.suggested  NCERT books and other books which are useful for competitive exams .shared some useful website links of competitive exam .

Civil services screening examination

With an initiative to encourage students to take up Civil Services, the Head office has planned a training session. As a part of the plan, three screening tests would be conducted to select eligible candidates for further training. The screening sessions involve both objective and subjective type questions covering reasoning and aptitude, current affairs, and arithmetic problems. Best students would be chosen from the three tests and would be trained by professionals. This is a free coaching facility made available to underprivileged students by the government. Many enthusiastic students have been benefited from this initiative.

Department of English - National Webinar on "Public Speaking and Media Writing Skills".

One day National Webinar on Public Speaking and Media Writing Skills Organized virtually on 28th June 2021 by Department of English. The Webinar was held in Two Technical Sessions.

            In the first session Ms. Meena Nayak English Instructor, Soft SkillsTrainer at Talent Sigma Professionals Pvt.Ltd. Bhubaneshwar. Explained on Public Speaking and Media writing Skills, Highlighted the techniques and tools involved in Oral Skills.

While Addressing the Second Session, Mr. P. Narahari Murthy, Ass. Professor,Head, Dept of English Dr.BRR Govt Degree College, Mahabubnagar Presented a talk on Media Writing Skills He also elaborated on different elements of story writing and Poetic devices.
