Academic Calendar

Month wise Academic Activities for the year 2020-21.

Each academic year is divided into two semesters and programmes are evaluated in the credit system. Teaching includes lectures, tutorials, practicals, projects, seminars, dissertations. The Institutes lay special emphasis on the tutorial system, which is based on a close personal interaction between students and teachers. The undergraduate students have to undergo a comprehensive project work submission in the final year of their studies. A distinct feature of the education system at Telangana Tribal Welfare Residential Degree College for women Shadnagar is the emphasis on overall personality development and therefore in the process, extra curricular activities become an integral part of student life.and instilling the qualities of leadership in the students. The Institutes has provided the largest number of graduates in the task of nation building.

Academic committees and faculty committee of each Department reviews the performance of every student throughout the year. And at the end of each semester every student gives a feedback on the course content, its relevance and performance of the teacher. Feed back from students has helped in continually improving teaching quality.

I SEMESTER- JUNE - NOVEMBER

II SEMESTER – DECEMBER – MAY

Classroom instructions for second year and third year begin from June and for first year begins from July. The academic plan for the undergraduate courses depends upon their concerned universities almanacs. The well-designed Academic calendar not only plans & Schedules a wide range of curricular , co-curricular & extra-curricular activities for the students but also helps to equip them with the required skill-set and prepares them to enhance their potential in various academic & non-academic activities.

I , III , V SEMESTERS STARTS FROM JUNE

June : 

  • Commencement of Bridge course for first year students.
  • Train the new residential students on Health and Hygeine.
  • Induction programme for first year students on residential pattern.
  • Formation of clubs and enrolment of the students into various clubs and an orientation on all the club activities for the year.
  • General health check-ups of students by Health Supervisor / Staff Nurse of the colleges.

July:

  • Haritha haram is observed and saplings are planted in the institutions.
  • College & district level screening of super students.
  • College council election follows the due procedure :
    • Filling of nominations for College Council.
    • Scrutiny of nominations, display of final list by Principal and Staff.
    • Election to the College Council
    • Declaration of results of the Election.

August:

  • Taking classes as per the time table
  • Cultural competitions should be conducted on the occasion of Independence Day.
  • Not only planting,care should be taken to maintain cleanliness and greenery.

SEPTEMBER:

  • Completion of 80% syllabus and revision should be done.
  • Final year Students must be updated about JAM, CENTRAL UNIVERSITY ENTRENCE & JOB OPPORTUNITIES, and necessary coaching must be given by the subject concerned lecturers.
  • Industrial and Botanical tours for students should be conducted for students..
  • Conduct of clubs to inspire and motivate students towards creative thinking.
  • PD will select college teams give intensive coaching and prepare the students for college games, sports federation and TTWR Institutions district level tournaments which will be held in the month of October.
  • Elocution, essay writing and quiz competitions may be conducted on the occasion of the International LITERACY day.
  • Preparation of students for the university level games competitions Local field trips to collect specimens by BZC Students in 4 groups on different days for preparation of herbarium under supervision of principal and degree lecturers.
  • Review on the academic performance of the students at the end of the month by the Principal, Vice Principal.

OCTOBER:

  • Planning and preparation of eligible students to appear for University sports.
  • Action plan and implementation to improve the standards of the students based on their performance in the first and second internal assessments.
  • Special emphasis should be laid on future learners and measures to be taken for remedial teaching.
  • Conduct computer class to non-Computer group students
  • World Food Day the Health Supervisor along with Science faculty members should conduct seminars to educate the students on nutrition values and the need to improve agricultural produce
  • Second spell recording of height and weight of the students by the Physical Education Lecturers.
  • DAY Celebration on the occasion of S R Shankaran’s birthday
  • Conducting Live teaching competitions of super students on T-SAT and other programmes as per schedule.
  • National & state wide job notification information should be explained to the final year students.
  • QUEST Programme should be taken up by the Principal and House parents and visit at least two homes of the students during I-term holidays.

NOVEMBER:

  • Special emphasis may be laid on future learners and measures may be taken up for remedial coaching and conducting slip tests.
  • Correction of practical records.
  • Review and re-teaching of difficult concepts.
  • Conducting of Practical Examinations.
  • Conducting of Pre final Examinations.
  • Preparing the students for the Semester Examinations.
  • Revision of the entire syllabus for the Semester Examinations
  • Conduct of visual arts / literary camp.
  • Preparation for State Level Games.
  • State Level Science Fair by 15th of November.
  • To promote reading habits, organizing book exhibition by the librarian in connection with the Library Week Celebrations.
  • Conducting Live teaching competitions of super students on T-SAT and other programmes as per schedule.
  • Review on games and sports activities for the preparation of Zonal and State Level tournaments.
  • Counseling to students - a guest lecture may be arranged on personality development
  • Conducting various activities to educate students on AIDS by the Health Supervisor.
  • Celebration of Mathematics Day.
  • Arts faculty will organize mock parliament.
  • Awareness on consumer rights will be given by the principal or the librarian or the lecturer in charge of the Thought for the Day in the morning assembly.
  • Guest lecturers may be arranged on UNESCO Day by Arts faculty.
  • Submission of College Magazine.
  • Preparation of schedule of the coming semesters 2, 4, 6
  • Commencement of classes for the semester 2 ,4 & 6.

JANUARY:

  • Commencement of the classes for the New Semesters II, IV, VI.
  • Implementation of new time table for new semester.
  • To encourage meritorious students and future learners who have shown considerable improvement. Mementoes to be awarded on Republic Day.
  • 3rd spell recording of the height and weight of the students by the Physical Education Lecturers.
  • Intimation should be given to the parents to pick up their children for II Term (Pongal) Vacation

 

  • QUEST Programme should be taken up. The principal should visit at least two homes of the students during the II-Term holidays and report should be sent to the DCO / R C O and the Secretary.
  • Super nova celebrations.
  • National& state wide job notification information should be explain to the final year students.
  • Re-opening day after Pongal vacation there will be review of Pre Final exams results..
  • Preparing the students for the Internal exams.
  • Review of the Health cards of the students and necessary measures to taken up for students suffering from chronic diseases.
  • New timetable is to be prepared for Degree classes. Ample time may be allotted for core subjects and action may be taken as per the feedback.
  • House parents take utmost care to curb absenteeism of students during this period. If necessary, parents may be called to discuss the abnormal activities of the students.

FEBRAURY:

  • Classes will be run seriously to fulfill their knowledge to greater heights using different teaching methods like flipped classes , digital classes.
  • Career Counseling by the librarians and staff to the outgoing students of Degree students
  • A guest lecture by an eminent personality will be arranged to boost the moral courage and guide the Public going students.
  • Results Analysis and review of 1, 3, 5 Semester examinations.

MARCH:

  • Completion of the syllabus as per the division
  • Preparing students for the internal examinations.
  • Conducting of the internal exams - II
  • Identification of future learners based on the performance in the internals and taking up remedial teaching until they reach expected levels.
  • Conduct of club activities as for schedule.
  • In girls colleges, awareness programme should be conducted on the role of women in the development of the society.
  • Selection of students for various Summer Camps.

APRIL:

  • Special emphasis will be laid on future learners and measures may be taken up for remedial coaching and conducting slip tests.
  • Correction of practical records. Conducting of Practical Examinations.
  • Review and re-teaching of difficult concepts.
  • Conducting of Pre final Examinations.
  • Preparing the students for the Semester Examinations.
  • Revision of the entire syllabus for the Semester Examinations Conduct of visual arts / literary camp.
  • Career counseling for final year students about higher education and jobs by the lecturer concerned.

MAY:

  • Preparing students thoroughly for exams as per the university schedule Examinations
  • Examinations will be held regularly to make students free from exam fear and to make them thorough about what they learned.
  • Examinations will be in a planned manner at institutional level just like weekly slip tests.
  • Monthly Assignments.
  • Pre finals
  • Pre practical exams.
  • Internal exams will be conducted as per their concerned universities almanac
