About Deparment

 

TTWRDC [W] Devarakonda Degree College for Women,  Nalgonda   was established in the year 2017.  With the initiation of the College, Department of Telugu simultaneously existed with other faculties as Second Language and as a subject of importance and interest.The department of Telugu was established in the year 2017 Telangana Trible Residential degree college for women devarakoda.

VISION:

To educate, enrich & empower young women in creative freelance writing skills

MISSION:

  •  To encourage and motivate the students to study ancient and modern literature.
  •  To encourage the students to read literary essays published in news papers and magazines
  •  To make them participate in literary competitions organised at various levels.
  •  To motivate them to participate online workshops and   seminars.
  •  To inspire them to read master pieces of eminent poets and      writers.
  •  To encourage them to interact with the local poets and writers
  •  To develop anchoring skills in social media.

 

SWOC Analysis of the Department:

Strengths, Weakness, Opportunities, Threat, Analysis it provide basis for a frame work and help to identify different knowledge area and priorities for knowledge creation and knowledge exploitation. In order to promote the development of knowledge society the department make efforts to develop infrastructure for knowledge dissemination is given top priority, which will serve the public interest, focus on human communications and provide universal access to information.

  • Identify slow learners
  • Improving their vocabulary
  • Improving writing skills & learning skills

Strengths:

  • Experienced Faculty in terms of teaching/research.
  • Digitally adaptable  faculty  with hands on experience  
  • in  PPTs, YouTube's and other audio-visual aids.
  • Extra curricular &   Co-curricular activities for overall development of 
  • students.
  • Easy to teach ethics and values through Telugu language.

Weaknesses:

  • Students feel that Speaking Telugu is an inferior activity and students show negligence towards Telugu language.
  • No Telugu language testing in competitive examinations.
  • The parents are crazy about English medium education.
  • Day to day transaction forms are not available in Telugu.

Opportunities:

  • Plenty of opportunities are available for  the people who have good command over Telugu.
  • Telugu is a Cultural specific Language it preserves our traditions, customs, rituals and festivals for next generation.
  • Telugu makes the learner to become a good citizen of the nation.  It encourages creative writing in freelance.

 

Challenges:

  • Lack of interest to pursue higher studies in Telugu language.
  • It is hard to make the students as mistakes free writing and speaking.
  • Lack of interest in Telugu language is losing ethics and valuesus

Unique Selling Point

The Telugu faculty along with the English faculty along with the students of the college prepared a dictionary ,dictionary in Telugu and English for some words of Banjara language.
