About the Department
The commerce department is one of the largest departments in the institution. Department engages the students in various academic cognitive activities like seminars, group discussions, debates ,role play sessions case study analysis, quiz etc .it offers: B.com (CA) & B.com (Gen).
Vision:
Empowering women through business knowledge.
Mission:
The mission of this department is to impart business knowledge, inculcate values by learning, and developing a holistic growth to face the current challenges in the business scenario and make them corporate personnel.
SWOC
Strengths :
- Research methodology as a subject for undergraduate students.
- Project work for b.com students.
- Job-oriented subjects.
- Well established ICT lab
Weaknesses:
1. Unavailability of licensed versions of Tally and GST.
2. Less scope for the subject in a competitive exam to achieve Government jobs.
Opportunities:
1. Various job opportunities in the field of marketing, accounts, firms’ industries, banks etc
2. Start Research Centre in commerce
3. Field visit for industrial explosion.
Challenges:
1. Mismatch between current need of commerce industry and syllabi.
2. Primitive background of students is obstacle for practical learning of subjects.
