Departments - Microbiology - Profile

About the Department

The Department of Microbiology started in the year of 2017 from the establishment of the college. This is one of the branches of life science that focus on the very primitive and minute organisms that are not seen with the naked eye. As Microbiology is a new subject that was not included in the intermediate, the department focuses more on inculcating basic knowledge in students and at the same time fostering advanced skills in the Field.

Apart from providing theoretical knowledge, the department also imparts practical knowledge in the students and hands-on experience in using various laboratory techniques.

The department has well-qualified and sufficient faculty and also has a well-equipped spacious laboratory.

From 2017 to now the department has served 137 students, most of them pursuing their Post graduation.

The Department of Microbiology also provides PG coaching exclusively for interested students which has resulted the 10 to 20 seats in PG Microbiology in various state universities and colleges.

A wide range of  Textbooks, Reference books, and E-resources are there for Microbiology students. Apart from all the above the department also uses a wide range of teaching practices such as ICT-PPT tools, experiential learning, participative learning, Quiz, Student seminars, and field trips which enables the students to learn the topic with more involvement.
