About the Department

Conducting educational tour to give an exposure to the students by visiting animal park, diary industry, sericulture, fisheries, poultry farms. Motivate students to conduct the seminars workshops on the topics included in the curriculum help them in achieving academic excellence providing me providing A comprehensive training in theoretical and tactical geology an environmental biology to the students.  Students  are equipped with adequate practical skills that will enable them function productively in society producing leadership Science and  technology sensitizing human society and animal welfare conservation and protection of biodiversity. Creating awareness of IUCN conservation of wild life. Developing interest in Research.

Vision

Zoology Is the branch of biology concerned with the study of animal  the eyesight of zoology includes the interaction of animal Kingdom in their ecosystem such as classification habit structure Embryology distribution evolution and extinct species. The department promote the discovery and brought knowledge about the biology of animals evolution under environmental conditions. The department make them able to contribute effectively further developmentof Human welfare.

1. Applied Entomology

About The Course :-  Applied entomology deals with the dual natureof insects as applied to mankind. It also provides the information about useful and harmful insects for mankind.  It provides the detailed information on economically important insect orders, including their characteristic features.

Importance :-

•             It provides the detailed information on economically important insect orders, including their characteristic features.

•             Entomology which is the study of pests and beneficial insects of field crops, fruits and vegetables.

•             The study of insects serves as the basis for developments in biological and chemical pest control, food and fiber production and storage.

Course outcomes:

•             They learnt about horticulture and gardening, beneficial insects are often considered those that contribute to pest control and native habitat integration

•             Attain a solid foundation in insect biology, including general entomology, basic systematics, morphology, physiology, and biodiversity.

•             They attain knowledge on silkworm not only provides silk for fashionable clothing, it also provides several  useful  products to the human society.

•             They attain knowledge on Bee keeping ,Types of Bees, characters and uses of bee for the production of honey.

2. Poultry

About The Course :-Poultry teaches people how to raise and manage healthy chickens, Turkeys, and Ducks for eggs or meat. Students learn to apply principles of biology to improve productivity.

Importance 

Poultry farming is beneficial for the production of eggs and meat for commercial purposes. Millions of chickens are raised across the world as a good source of food in the form of eggs and meat.

Course outcomes:

•   The course is designed to acquaint with the status and perspective of Indian Poultry Industry and advantages of rearing poultry.

•   Various types of poultry farms and farming systems practised in India are given specially emphasis and discussed in detail.

•   our course will teach marketing strategies to promote your products and increase profits in the poultry farm business.

•  The course also introduces about the different academic and development institutions involved in the training and extension activities in the poultry sector.

•   The different government schemes and poultry cooperatives are also dealt in this course. The course will also throw light on the common breeds of poultry, different body systems and functions, different breeding systems involved in poultry farming and culling and judging of poultry.
