Departments - Zoology - Syllabus
Zoology is the study of animals it includes their Embryology, Classification, Structure Behaviour, Anatomies habitats and all things to do with animals. It also includes both the inquiry into individual animals and their constituent parts, even to the Molecular level and the inquiry into the Animal population entire faunas and relationships of animal to each other to plants and to plants and to the non-living environment.
The animal Kingdom is widely diverse, and the organisms can be either sessile or motile with several levels of organisation. Evolution can help in the determination of the subsequent progression of life through generations. Hence one can study the Organism their evolutionary relationship with other species.
Study of Zoology can also allow to understand about the human body how the physiological systems are working. Students can be able to know the anatomy and Physiology of the physiological system like Digestive System, Respiratory System, Excretory System, Reproductive System, Nervous System, Muscular System and Skeleton System, Immune System. This helps the students how the failure of one physiological system gradually affects one another.
Furthermore, studying of molecular and cellular level of organisation helps to study various cellular structures and processes. Their work can vary from finding cures to various diseases to developing therapeutic drugs to working on stem cell research. Students can understand the importance of molecular medicine in human biology and know how to develop treatment of known and emerging diseases.
