A TWO DAY MEHENDI WORKSHOP UNDER ENTRPRENEURSHIP TRAINING

The 2-Day Mehndi Workshop was successfully organized by the Career Guidance Cell (CGC) and the Women Empowerment Cell of the college in collaboration with the District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW), under SAKHI, and powered by the District Women and Child Welfare Department, Khammam from 12-11-2024 to 13-11-2024. This empowering initiative was aimed at promoting skill development, creativity, and women’s empowerment among students.

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS:

The 2-day workshop commenced on 12th November 2024 and featured a structured series of activities, speeches, and practical sessions.

  1. Inaugural Session:
    The program began with an inspiring address to the students by the Principal, Vice Principal, IQAC Coordinator, and CGC Coordinator, setting the tone for the two days.
  2. Speech by Resource Person:
    Mrs. Samreen, Coordinator of DHEW, Khammam, delivered an informative and motivating speech, highlighting the importance of skill development and women’s empowerment. This was followed by a hands-on workshop led by her.
  3. Workshop Activities:
    A total of 64 students actively participated in the workshop. On the second day, the students attended the practical class, applied the tips and techniques learned, and demonstrated their creativity by designing beautiful Mehndi patterns.

CLOSING CEREMONY:

The program concluded with a formal closing ceremony, attended by the Principal, Vice Principal, IQAC Coordinator, and other senior lecturers. They lauded the students’ creativity, efforts, and active participation throughout the two days. Additionally, they offered valuable suggestions for students’ future endeavors.

AWARDS & RECOGNITION:

To encourage talent and hard work, the top three students were selected based on the quality of their Mehndi designs:

  • 1st Prize: Miss Swathi (2nd BA)
  • 2nd Prize: Miss Seethalaxmi (3rd B.Com CA)
  • 3rd Prize: Miss Vijaya Laxmi (2nd MPCS)

The winners were applauded for their creativity and dedication.

STUDENT FEEDBACK:

The students expressed immense happiness and satisfaction, noting that the program provided them with a great opportunity to learn, showcase creativity, and build confidence. The workshop was both educational and empowering, with students appreciating the hands-on experience and guidance they received.

CONCLUSION:

The 2-Day Mehndi Workshop was a tremendous success, fostering creativity, skill-building, and women empowerment. Through this initiative, students not only gained practical knowledge but were also encouraged to explore creative career paths and skill-based opportunities. The program’s collaborative approach and emphasis on learning have paved the way for similar empowering initiatives in the future.
