Brief History of the Telugu Language
Background - Known to exist since the time period 400 BC.
Significance - One of the six classical languages of India.
Recognition - The third most spoken language in India.
Status - 2012 - Voted 2nd best script in the world - International alphabet Association.
Comparison - Also called - "Italian of the East".
Difficulties - Though mother tongue but - Difficulty in effective Communication
Opportunities - Writers/Script writers, Lyricists, Reporters/ Journalists, Radio Jockey, Columnist, News Readers, Sub-editors.
Vision
- To make students learn the greatness of Telugu Heritage, Customs and Traditions.
- Explain the need of Telugu Language, which has been losing its importance survival.
- Take up a project on Telangana language and literature – an initiative to reconstruct the history of Telangana literature.
Mission
- To enhance the social, morale and human valves among the student community.
- To enlighten the students about the richness and importance of Telugu Language.
- To conduct Seminars and Guest Lecturers.
- Department regularly conducting the review meetings to develop the academic skills and also to maintain all the necessary records.
