The mainstay of the vision of the Department of English is to offer students adequate communication skills to prepare them for their professional needs in the globalized scenario prevalent today.

MISSION

* The mission of the department is to offer advanced, career- oriented graduate programmes imparting professional knowledge, employability and life skills, as well as inculcating a vision of community growth and development and strong ethical values. The department employs innovative and technology enhanced pedagogies, interdisciplinary approaches, field work and project-based learning toward building strong foundation of literary sensibilities and language competence.

* The department has taken upon itself the mission of working zestfully and resourcefully to impact the four skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing. In its teaching, the department of English seeks to provide students with an education of the highest quality in the English language and in critical and creative writing.

* It encourages students throughout their programs so as to enable them to progress expeditiously to their degrees and to gain the maximum benefit from their experience. The department of English also seeks to serve the students through public event programming, collaborative projects .
