PROFILE OF DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE AND APPLICATIONS

DEPARTMENT COMPUTER SCIENCE

The Department of Computer Science was established in this college with MPCS, B.Com (CA) course in the year 2018 with a view to provide quality Computer Education to the students of this region. Eminent and well experienced faculty served at this department. In a bid to impart the computer knowledge, which is the need of the hour. Many eminent scholars with required knowledge and skills were produced from this department. The Department of Computer Science and Applications is one of the biggest departments at College in terms of Students Enrollment and Number of Staff Members as well. Alumni members of this department achieved greater positions in their lives.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:

• With a view to provide quality Computer science Education to the students of this region, Department of Computer science and Applications was established on 2018 with B. Com Computer Applications, BSc(MPCs) MPCs, EM course to equip the students with computer skills besides Computer Education.
• Indeed, the Department of Computer Science & Applications is one of the biggest Departments in the College in terms of No. of Staff Members and Student Admissions.
• The students of Department had undertaken about more than one Student selected for Internship Program at China, A. Mamathasri - Mpcs.

STRENGTHS

• Of 4 Teachers of Computer Science Department, 3 Teachers are Assistant Professors with rich and varied experience in teaching and research.
• Well-equipped Computer Lab and Digital Classroom for ICT teaching.
• Well ventilated and spacious classrooms.
• Availability of CCTV Cameras for safety and security.

WEAKNESSES

• Non- availability of Permanent Building.

OPPORTUNITITES

• There is a lot of potential to increase the admissions in the days to come.
• P. G Course i.e., MCA, MSc,  can be introduced to cater to the demands of this region students.
• More number of Certificate and Value-Added Courses can also be introduced in future.
• The ICT facility can be arranged in each class to leverage the technology.

CHALLENGES

• Sever competition from Engineering Courses, which are indulging in unfair practices in admissions.
• The College is suffering from locational problem.
